Traveling Around the Bodensee...

While my parents were in Germany, we visited many of the towns around the lake (which is called the "Bodensee" in German) that we live on. In my opinion, the area in which we live is one of the most beautiful in all of Germany! (I mean, between the lake, the mountains, the history, and the cute little villages surrounding the lake, we literally have it all! :)) So, while my parents were here, I made a point of showing them many of the places that make up the Bodensee region.

In my opinion, each of the towns in this region have a Bavarian feel to them. The towns are all very picturesque, and the amount of flowers that can be found in every town is truly amazing! :) Many of the towns were not entirely affected by the war, so there is alot of history that can still be found in them as well. Some of them still have the remnants of fortress walls surrounding them or old castles that stand on hilltops overlooking the lake. Each town has a personality all its own, but the focal point in every one of the towns is the Bodensee. The Bodensee is a very popular lake in Germany. It literally attracts millions of visitors each year. Trust me on that... The traffic is absolutely horrendous here during the summer! :)

So, after spending two weeks traveling around Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France with my parents, I was quite happy to hear from them that their favorite place to visit was the Bodensee region... yay! :)

Love this gargoyle!! The Meersburg Castle is in the distance...
