I realize that they've been a long time coming, but I'm finally getting around to posting our pictures from our weekend in Mallorca, Spain... Yay! :)
Our weekend in Mallorca felt like the perfect getaway (not that we really need a "getaway" considering where we live!! :))... It was just the right mixture of sightseeing and relaxing... One day was spent sightseeing in the beautiful city of Palma de Mallorca, while the next day was spent soaking up the sunshine and laying on the beach... What a fabulous way to spend a weekend! :)

On our first full day in Mallorca, we headed out to do some sightseeing. This is just a sample of some of the gorgeous scenery we passed by! :)

These looked like Gaudi-inspired balconies! :)

A small pond we came across in Palma...

Catedral de Palma de Mallorca (also known as La Seu)...
The construction of this Gothic Roman Catholic Cathedral began in 1229, and was finally finished in 1601.

After wandering through the city of Palma, we headed to the beach to check out their infamous shoreline... And, it definitely didn't disappoint! :) Let me also point out, that Brian and I were extremely excited to be walking on a sandy beach again! The rocky German beaches definitely don't compare to the feeling of sand between your toes!! :)

And, of course, the gorgeous backdrop provided lots of photo ops for the two of us! :) Here's my favorite one of Brian!! :)

Oh how I love the sun, sand, and water! :)

Our lunch proved to be quite entertaining... To say the least! :) We found a place that served paella and sangrias, so we opted to have lunch there... Upon sitting down, we ordered sangria... Seeing as how we both ordered one, we figured that they would bring a small pitcher, with two glasses, so that we could share (just like most restaurants in Spain do!)... Oh, we were proven so very wrong! :)
Instead of bringing out a pitcher for us to share, our waitress proceeded to walk out and place two of these monstrocities in front of us!! Yep, look closely... That is sangria. In a masse. With a very large quantity of obnoxiously colored (and ridiculously long) straws! That's right... While in Spain, we each drank sangria out of a masse with at least a 3 ft. long straw... How weird is that?! :) Needless to say, that was ALOT of sangria... Much more than we were hoping for! :) And, for the record... I really like sangria... But, a little sangria can go a very long way! :)

Paella... YUM!! :)

Playing in the sculpture garden... :)

Brian with the cathedral and the city of Palma in the distance... :)

After spending the day sightseeing, we headed back to Cala Mayor (one of the many "suburbs" of Palma), where we found this cute little Italian restaurant, right on the water (which made for a gorgeous view at dinner! :))... Thankfully, this place was also quite a bit classier than where we stopped for lunch! :)

Strolling along the waterfront in Cala Mayor...

The following day, we decided that we were going to take full advantage of the beautiful weather! So, we headed to the beach! :)

We managed to score ourselves two little lounge chairs under a straw hut, and that's pretty much where we parked ourselves for the remainder of the day! Ahhhhh! :)
(Now, let me just explain how completely excited I was to be able to spend the day on the beach... You see, Brian typically does not like to spend a whole day just laying around... He tends to get very antsy after a couple of hours. But, this beach managed to catch his attention and keep it for the whole day... How, you ask? Well, this beach was different in that it was a topless beach! :) Needless to say, Brian quite enjoyed himself that day and I didn't hear him complain at all about having to lay on the beach all day! :))

The view...

I (heart) beach days! :)

Taking a break from the sun to enjoy an ice, cold beer! :)

A perfect day at the beach in Mallorca, Spain! :)

Our hotel pool at night...

Adios, Mallorca! :)
