As you know, we headed to Austria for an end of season ski trip this past weekend... What a fun few days we had! Between our fabulous hut in the mountains, fantastic skiing conditions and weather at Ischgl, the many delicious, homemade meals we prepared in our hut, lots of fun and games, and spending time with friends... We couldn't have asked for a better weekend! :) Here's a peak into our weekend shenanigans... Enjoy!
Here's the hut that we stayed in... It's called Butz Hütte, and it was such a great place to stay. It's big enough to sleep 30 people, but due to Austrian laws, they can only rent it out to groups of 12 or less... So, needless to say, it's very roomy! :) It's got such a cozy feel to it, and it's decorated in typical, rustic, mountain style... We took advantage of the huge patio and grill and spent our first evening grilling up some yummy steaks and wurst... Brian was our "Grillmaster" that night! :)

This slope here was one of the most difficult slopes I've ever skied down... Needless to say, it was definitely not a blue (easy) run! The views were amazing, but the slope was frightening!! Literally, it was extremely steep and it was nothing but ice... Yikes!! Hence the reason I'm posing like this for the picture... I was too scared to try to move for fear that I would start sliding downhill and not be able to stop! :)

There's a funny story behind this picture... We got off the lift, and I was trying to round up the group for a group photo... I had everyone standing in place, and we were just waiting for one more person. When she finally showed up to where we were all standing, and I was getting ready to snap the picture, a few members of our group apparently "forgot" what I was doing, and proceeded to start skiing down the hill... Lovely!

The funniest part of the day (outside of me almost getting run down by a bunch of drunken skiers on my way down the mountain after the Apres-Ski party we went to!) was when we were getting ready to head back to the hut, but Maciej's car wouldn't start (because he forgot to turn off his headlights that morning! :))... So, the guys had to push the car around the parking lot while Maciej attempted to start it... Too funny! :) Thankfully, it did end up starting, and we were able to get home afterwards! :)
